Dare to Start a New Legacy: Esra Talu's Journey to Empowering Global Startups with GoGlobal

Entrepreneurship is not just about creating a business; it’s about daring to start something that leaves a legacy, a mark that inspires others to dream, build, and grow. When I founded GoGlobal in Miami in 2019, I wasn’t just building another company—I was setting out to create a bridge between ambitious tech startups and the global opportunities they needed to thrive.

Starting GoGlobal was not an easy decision, but it was a necessary one. It was born out of a deep realization that the world’s most promising startups often struggle to access the resources they need to succeed: financial capital, human talent, and the right networks. Having spent years working across ecosystems in Turkey, the USA, and the Middle East, I had seen first-hand the untapped potential in emerging markets. I felt a calling to help these founders reach the global stage, where their innovations could truly shine.

Taking the Leap

In many ways, founding GoGlobal was a leap of faith. By the time I started, I already had an established career, having co-founded and run Turkey’s first e-commerce company, Deppo, for 15 years. But entrepreneurship is not about staying in your comfort zone—it’s about recognizing when the next big idea is worth pursuing and having the courage to act on it.

Miami became the perfect home for GoGlobal. The city’s vibrant culture, its position as a growing tech hub, and its rich diversity resonated with my vision for a company that would connect startups from all over the world to the opportunities they needed. I wanted GoGlobal to embody Miami’s energy—a bold, welcoming, and ambitious spirit that celebrates innovation and growth.

Challenges Along the Way

No journey is without its challenges. Building GoGlobal from the ground up meant creating something entirely new—a boutique advisory firm that wasn’t just about traditional consulting but about actively engaging with startups to prepare them for global success. We faced the usual hurdles: building trust with clients, competing against larger players, and navigating cultural differences in a highly globalized world.

But those challenges became our strengths. We positioned GoGlobal as a fine, boutique advisory company founded and led by a woman, with deep roots in the markets we serve. Our team, along with our trusted business partners around the world, became our greatest asset. Together, they bring unparalleled expertise, passion, and a shared belief in our mission to empower startups and drive global innovation.

Leaving a Legacy

Starting GoGlobal was also deeply personal for me. As a woman entrepreneur from Turkey, I understood the unique struggles that founders—especially women—face in breaking into global markets. I wanted GoGlobal to be a company that didn’t just help businesses succeed but also championed the values I hold dear: inclusivity, sustainability, and a commitment to making the world a better place through technology.

Our work has been about more than transactions—it’s about transformation. By helping startups scale, secure funding, and navigate new markets, we’re enabling them to make a lasting impact. And in doing so, we’re leaving a legacy of our own: one that inspires other entrepreneurs to take the leap, to dare to start something meaningful.

Encouraging Others to Dare

If there’s one lesson I’ve learned on this journey, it’s that daring to start a new legacy requires belief—in yourself, in your vision, and in the value you bring to the world. It’s not about having all the answers; it’s about being willing to take the first step and figure things out as you go.

I want to encourage others to do the same. Whatever your dream, whatever your vision, trust that it’s worth pursuing. Surround yourself with people who share your values, seek out mentors and advisors who believe in your potential, and never underestimate the power of resilience.

Starting GoGlobal has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It has allowed me to combine my passion for entrepreneurship with my desire to make a difference in the world. And it has shown me that when you dare to start a new legacy, you’re not just building a company—you’re building hope, opportunity, and a future for others to follow.

Final Words

So, dare to start your own legacy. Dare to take the leap, to create, to inspire. The world needs your ideas, your innovations, and your courage. If I could do it, so can you.
